The area is of rural countryside dotted with small villages and larger towns. The scenery is beautiful, with spectacular views, the roads quiet and the four Border Abbeys are all within easy reach. Sir Walter Scott’s favourite view is 4 miles from Earlston, and his home of Abbotsford is nearby. The 32ft high statue of William Wallace is just a few miles from ‘Scott’s view’, with Dryburgh Abbey, the next stop.
Many other Tourist attractions, including Stately Homes and Castles are on our door-step.
The river Tweed, famous for its fishing, flows nearby, and there are numerous championship Golf Courses in the area. For walkers and ramblers there are miles of unspoilt tranquil hills and glens to explore, and garden-centres aplenty. |
